Ryan Reynolds is Your New Cable Provider- First Look at Josh Brolin in Deadpool 2

After Reynolds dropped the Beetz last week with a first look at Domino in Deadpool 2, he’s back with another first look at his stellar mutant co-stars.  This time?  Thanks to @VancityReynolds on Twitter, we have a new Cable provider.

Two pictures were dropped on social media to reveal the arrival of this time-traveling mutant, played by Josh Brolin (who also plays Thanos in Marvel‘s Avengers: Infinity War)!  “We all have that one, grumpy, heavily armed Uncle from the future,” says Ryan Reynolds.

In the comics, Cable, also known as Nathan Summers, is the time-traveling son of Scott Summers, the X-Men team member known as Cyclops.  His mother in the comics was a clone of Jean Grey named Madeline Pryor.

Cable is cybernetically enhanced and has expert marksmanship and telekinetic powers.  Teaming up with Deadpool and Domino for this latest film, it sounds like these mutant marksmen will make merciless mercenaries.

Reynolds also posted this fuller look at Cable’s costume, which allows for a closer look at some of the man’s cybernetic features, including his arm and eye.  The look is very true to his comic book counterpart, with the silver hair and unique scarring on his face.  Plus, no Rob Liefeld creation is complete without tons of weapons pouches all across his body.

Note the teddy bear on his belt, which might be familiar to comic readers following his recent history.  We may be seeing more mutants than we might think!

What do you think of our first look at Cable?  We can hardly wait to meet these new mutants on the big screen!  Deadpool 2 is set to premiere on June 1, 2018.
