Thank You, Stan Lee

The multiverse lost a true superhero today.  Stan Lee, legendary writer, editor, and publisher of Marvel Comics, has passed away at the age of 95 years old.

From the comic page to the silver screen, Stan “The Man” has reached out to countless True Believers with his words of wisdom, his humor, and his sheer joy for the things that make our lives super.  This loss is felt very deeply throughout the world today, and Sideshow would like to express our heartfelt thanks for the unending inspiration his characters and worlds have given us as both fans and artists.

He helped to create characters known the world over that have become ingrained in the fabric of pop culture itself- Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, Thor, Iron Man, the Fantastic Four, Ant-Man, the X-Men, the Hulk, and countless others.

There are no words to truly express the meaning Stan Lee put into this world, along with comic book collaborators, like Steve Ditko and Jack Kirby.  Through his work in comics, he taught us values like responsibility, worthiness, heroism, and teamwork.  He leaves an incredible legacy that will continue to shape the very worlds of superheroes we know and love, as well as our own lives.

As he said in one of his many, many cameos, “You know, I guess one person can make a difference.”

So, thank you, Stan Lee, and excelsior.
