Top 10 Avengers Quotes in the MCU
Iron Man has witty remarks, Captain America has strong speeches, and the Hulk… well he tries his best. The MCU is incredibly quotable, and never more so than when all the Avengers are gathered together.
Let’s take a look at just a few of the best Avengers Quotes from over a decade of the MCU.
10. “That’s my secret, Captain. I’m always angry.”
There is nothing more thrilling than seeing the power coursing through the veins of Bruce Banner near the end of The Avengers (2012). The Gamma Radiation boils over, his eyes glaze over with a rich and powerful green, and his muscles begin to grow.
This quote electrified fans in the Marvel team’s first cinematic debut as all throughout, we’d seen Banner struggle to keep his alter ego under wraps. But when Manhattan needs him most, Bruce Banner lets himself be overcome and the Hulk bursts forth. He curls his fingers into a fist and prepares to do what he does best.
9. “I love you 3000.”
The line is said by both Morgan Stark and Tony Stark multiple times throughout Avengers: Endgame. The line is both heartbreaking and adorable, and it stands out as one of the most iconic lines in all the MCU, let alone the Avengers films. It starts as an exaggerated expression on behalf of the young girl, and ultimately becomes the rallying cry of the entire Marvel fandom thanks to Tony Stark’s sacrifice.
When you love someone with all your heart, you love them 3000.
8. “Cause if we can’t protect the Earth, you can be damn sure we’ll avenge it.”
The Avengers are far from a perfect team. They make more flounders and mistakes than most superhero teams, in fact. They don’t always get along and they don’t always succeed the first go-around. This may be due to the fact that they face more global threats than, say, the street level heroes of the Marvel Universe.
But that will never stop them from trying. They will do whatever it takes to fight for Earth and its people. This quote exemplifies that resolve, and even includes the word “avenge”- because they’re the Avengers. It’s what they do!
7. “I can do this all day.”
Captain America will never give up a fight. He will push himself past his limits again and again, and if he falls down, he’ll just get back up again.
No matter how much he’s been through, he will never let his opponent see his weakness. He will fight the same fight as many times as it takes to win. And he will, eventually, win.
6. “If we’re going to win this fight, some of us might have to lose it.”
Hawkeye has always been a voice of reason and clarity within the storm that is the MCU. He is that grim reminder that hero work is a major risk for everyone involved.
It reminds us that every time he puts on that suit, every time he grabs a bow and arrow, he knows what he’s signing up for, and he’s fighting with all his life. Clint Barton is ostensibly one of the most “normal” members of the team, which allows him to keep a perspective that the gods and monsters might tend to forget.
5. “You get hurt, hurt ’em back. You get killed… walk it off.”
Captain America always seems to have the best pep talks. He knows exactly how to lead a team and how to get a group of superheroes ready for the most impossible situations. He’s been through human wars and alien wars, and is no stranger to the struggle and sacrifice required to make it through.
Cap is always prepared for the unprepared, and he’s always there to get the team on his level. His resilience and determination are unparalleled, but that’s exactly why he’s a leader.
4. “Whatever it takes.”
A major loss isn’t enough to stop Earth’s greatest heroes from tackling the greatest problems in all the galaxy. Not even losing half of all life in the universe.
Those that remain are there to fight for all their friends and family. For everything and everyone that Thanos destroyed. The Avengers will fight to the end. This is the fight of their lives. And they’re going to win- whatever it takes.
3. “The city is flying and we’re fighting an army of robots, and I have a bow and arrow. None of this makes sense.”
With gods and monsters and artificial intelligence, it’s hard to make sense of everything in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
So much is happening, so much is changing, and characters go through major growth at lightning speed. But we’re not the only ones with our jaws dropped and our minds blown — Hawkeye is right there alongside us, completely amazed.
2. “I still believe in heroes.”
In a rousing speech, Nick Fury has a terribly stark conversation with Iron Man and Captain America. He believed in an idea. The idea to bring together a group of remarkable people, and see if they could become something more.
It was thought that they could become a team that would work together when the world needed them, and fight the battles that humanity never could. It’s an old fashioned notion. But he still believes.
1. “Avengers, assemble!”
When it seems that all hope is lost, as Thanos returns to finish what he started, portals carrying heroes and fighters from across the Earth open up as if by magic. Lost friends and lovers reunite as the characters we have been watching for a decade peer through the gateways to the greatest battle of their lives.
Together, hundreds upon thousands of Wakandans, disciples of magic, Asgardians, aliens, and more join their allies for a final attack against Thanos. The final stand. After years, we finally get to hear the iconic phrase that has always led the team, uniting the greatest roster of heroes the MCU has ever seen.
Captain America gives the orders, and everyone listens.
