Throughout their car chase with the Tracksuit Bros, Kate and Clint struggle to understand each other. Not only do they have different battle styles but Clint is also missing his hearing aid. Yet somehow they manage to work together and evade Maya and the bros. Even when they’re not really communicating, they’re communicating! Now that’s teamwork.

As Kate rides an elevator toward Maya’s apartment, she chats up an elderly neighbor. At first he accepts Kate’s help with carrying groceries but then, in her enthusiasm, she brags a bit that she’s working with an Avenger. The man doesn’t quite believe her and quickly takes his bags back. Can you blame him?

It’s hard to pick just one Yelena quote because her delivery is either a comedic masterpiece or chilling to the bone — there is no in between for Black Widow’s sister. Usually, super heroes are known for their bold entrances and daring escapes. Especially with the Avengers, any normal action calls for impressive theatrics. That’s why it’s so hilarious to see that Kate Bishop’s sly plan to help Clint get away from Maya is by calling a rideshare. As the driver pulls up, he asks Kate if she’s Tabitha. At least Kate knows how to pull off a smooth disguise.

Props to Dave Jordan for truly assembling an epic holiday soundtrack for this Marvel TV series. Although the reveal of Kingpin is a very serious moment in the show’s narrative arc, pairing this introduction with the theme song from How the Grinch Stole Christmas (1966) is absolute genius. Aside from the Green Goblin perhaps, there are few Marvel super-villains who resemble the Grinch more than Wilson Fisk. Plus, Kingpin’s appearance brings Clint and Kate’s Hawkeye partnership into full swing.
