Disney is doing something different with Skeleton Crew! IT: Welcome to Derry — TBA 2025
Let’s go back to where it all began. Set decades before IT: Chapter 1, this horror show mixes fictionalized monsters with real-life monsters, also known as racist, radicalized white supremacists. Pennywise appears in Derry, Maine in the form of a giant bird instead of a creepy clown … but that’s not all he’ll shapeshift into as the series progresses. IT: Welcome to Derry is a 9-episode prequel inspired by interlude chapters in Stephen King’s novel. Bill SkarsgĂĄrd returns as Pennywise. The series will premiere and stream exclusively on Max in 2025.

Their adventures take place a decade before Captain Kirk pilots the U.S.S. Enterprise. Season 3 has 10 total episodes, and a season 4 has already been ordered. This season is expected to continue the episodic and genre-bending approach to each plot, bringing everything from high-octane space action to intimate portrayals of bridging cultural divides and interpersonal conflict.

CBS adds another Star Trek show to its ever-expanding universe. Starfleet Academy “follow[s] the adventures of a new class of Starfleet cadets as they come of age in one of the most legendary places in the galaxy.” Besides the young cadets, we’ll also meet the captain and chancellor of the Academy, played by Holly Hunter. As the students and teachers navigate school, love, friendship, and rivalries, they’ll also have to contend with a threat to the Federation as a whole. Starfleet Academy season 1 premieres in 2025 on Paramount+ and is set to include 10 episodes.
Alien: Earth — TBA 2025
Alien has captivated audiences since the very first film. Now the franchise turns to the small screen with Alien: Earth. It serves as a prequel, set three decades before the events that occurred in the beloved and terrifying 1979 movie. Alien: Earth is set on our familiar home planet, onto which a mysterious space vessel crashes. A group of soldiers discovers what lies within … and it’s as scary as you’d expect. Releasing in 2025 on Hulu, Alien: Earth does not have an expected number of episodes at this time.
Murderbot — TBA 2025

Drawn to humans, yet disgusted by their strong emotions and vulnerabilities, Murderbot completes dangerous missions while hiding its evolved nature. The titular character will be played by Alexander SkarsgĂĄrd (good year for the family!), with the Weitz brothers writing, directing, and producing. There is no specific release date at this time.
