Which Star Wars: Rebels Characters Appear in Ahsoka?

Which Star Wars: Rebels™ characters will appear in the Ahsoka™ series? Let’s look back at where we left the Ghost Crew™ and company in the original animated series to predict where they might be now.

Ahsoka Tano

Well, this one’s a given. Although Ahsoka Tano™ was a latecomer in the Rebels television series — after all, she debuted much earlier in Star Wars: The Clone Wars™ — she is now leading the modern charge for these characters. The last we saw Ahsoka Tano in Rebels, she was reuniting with Sabine Wren™ on the planet Lothal™. Both women hoped to find the missing Jedi™ Ezra Bridger™. It looks like we’ll pick up from there in Ahsoka.

Thrawn

Rebels‘ major antagonist Grand Admiral Thrawn™ returns more powerful than ever in Ahsoka. Thrawn last appeared in the Rebels finale, in which he and Ezra Bridger were transported by space whales called purrgil™ to … well, we don’t know where. Theories abound, of course. It could be the World Between Worlds™, or another unknown part of the galaxy. The point is, the purrgil can access it and normal beings simply can’t.

From the Ahsoka trailer, we’ve seen that a few of Thrawn’s acolytes are intent on bringing him back through a special ceremony. Obviously it works. So now we want to know how and why he’s changed, and what exactly has changed about him. Here’s hoping those questions are answered early.

Hera Syndulla and Chopper

Captain Hera Syndulla’s™ life hasn’t changed much. During Rebels, the ace pilot and her trusty droid Chopper™ enlisted in the Rebel Alliance™. Hera seems to be fighting the same fight today against Imperial remnants and additional emerging evil.

Sabine Wren

After the main events of Rebels, Sabine Wren took up residence on Lothal. In fact, she now lives in Ezra’s old tower on the outskirts of the main city. Based on the Ahsoka trailer, she’s still fighting tyranny on that important planet — but whether it’s against the Empire or local bandits, we don’t know.

Sabine is integral to the search for Ezra. Ezra certainly sensed potential and abilities in her that we’ve barely scratched the surface of. Here’s hoping we get to see those capabilities come to light. Let’s also hope we get to see a few more of Sabine’s famous murals.

Ezra Bridger

As mentioned previously, Ezra Bridger disappeared alongside the purrgil and Thrawn in the Rebels series finale. Before he left, he told Sabine he’s counting on her. It’s only years after the war that Sabine realizes he needs her help to come home. Perhaps with Thrawn’s return, Sabine and Ahsoka will have more leads on Ezra’s location.

Garazeb Orrielos

Garazeb Orrielos™, or Zeb, was last seen in Rebels flying toward the Lasat™ people’s new home. In The Mandalorian™, however, Zeb is sporting a pilot’s uniform and helping secure the galaxy alongside the New Republic™. How and when did that all happen? We expect Ahsoka to fit together some of those missing pieces of the timeline.

Bo-Katan Kryze

Bo-Katan Kryze™ played a brief but memorable role in Rebels. After Sabine Wren gifted Bo-Katan Kryze the Darksaber™, however, we lost track of her. Until The Mandalorian, that is. Since Bo-Katan is so heavily featured in The Mandalorian, we don’t expect to see much of her in Ahsoka. A quick cameo might be nice, though.

Captain Rex

Clone troopers™, as well as their genetic predecessors, are making a huge comeback in Star Wars projects. Just look at The Book of Boba Fett™ and The Bad Batch™. While Ahsoka’s old pal Captain Rex™ likely retired after the Battle of Endor™ — which he was confirmed to have fought in — he’s probably still around somewhere. We’ll cross our fingers for a quick hello to the old veteran.

Alexsandr Kallus

The Imperial officer-turned-traitor-turned-Fulcrum™ Alexsandr Kallus™ is a fan-favorite Rebels character. After committing atrocities against the Lasats, the peaceful people still accepted him as one of their own — mainly because Kallus and Zeb are so close. Kallus, after all, was going to live on Lira San™ with Zeb and the others. Is Kallus still there? Did he enlist with Zeb? Please tell us, Dave Filoni.

Kanan Jarrus

Alright, well. Kanan Jarrus™ himself won’t be in Ahsoka, considering he’s dead. Sorry. He could, however, appear in flashbacks or as a Force ghost. Since we heard his voice in The Rise of Skywalker™ — during Rey’s™ big Force connection moment — anything’s possible.

Jacen

We have to mention Jacen™. Hera and Kanan’s son was last seen in the Ghost’s cockpit, giggling as his mom made some awesome maneuvers. Maybe he’s just living on base with Hera, but we didn’t catch a single glimpse of the kid in the Ahsoka trailers. Oh, well. Some things are best saved for the show itself.

Additional Characters

Creature Features

Since part of the show will take place on Lothal, we know we’ll see Loth Cats™. We also hope to see Loth Wolves™ again — maybe they have some clues about Ezra’s whereabouts? We don’t know what the Loth Wolf to purrgil communication is like these days. Can they even communicate? Things might be easier for our protagonists if they could.

Jedi and Pirates

As far as cameos go, it would be nice to see Obi-Wan Kenobi™ and Yoda™ as Force ghosts. In the past, Ahsoka Tano has often sought guidance from Jedi Masters of old. Plus, with Qui-Gon Jinn’s™ appearance in the Obi-Wan Kenobi™ series, we’re ready for more spiritual CGI.

Finally, we just really want to see Hondo Ohnaka™. The Mandalorian keeps teasing us with other members of the Weequay™ species. Yet there’s no crotchety pirate captain in sight! Because Hondo has such a soft spot for Ezra, we can’t help but hope he’s part of the search (if only briefly).
