Chewbacca Mom is bringing the Wookiee love to the whole world and the Star Wars universe

Candance Payne aka Chewbacca Mom may have been content to enjoy her moment with her new Chewbacca mask in her car before she got home and her kids absconded with it, but the internet had other plans entirely.

What started as a simple Facebook video showing off her newest purchase became a viral sensation that refuses to be denied for the simple reason that Candace is so completely delighted by her purchase.

Before anyone knew what was happening, the video just blew up and everyone was sharing it and laughing with Candace. Kohls Department Store (where she originally got the mask) sold out of their stock in record time. So, in thanks, they stopped by to make sure Candace’s kids had their own masks –– and a few other things.

But it didn’t stop there. Nope. The video and Candace’s story just kept becoming more popular and, amazingly, Candace is one of the nicest and most down to earth people ever.

Her enthusiasm also earned her a special message from Peter Mayhew during her appearance on The Late Late Show With James Corden –– which was met with, you guessed it, more enthusiasm.

That’s not even the best part! The BEST part is when she and James Corden got a visit from J.J. Abrams and all three of them put on the mask. The laughter that ensued is the best thing you’ll see all day.

Wookiees are known for their fighting abilities and strength, but they’re also loyal, caring, and compassionate. Here’s hoping we can all be like Candance and bring out the best Wookie in ourselves.
