Enter Area X with the Annihilation Film Trailer

Paramount Pictures has released the first trailer for their upcoming science-fiction thriller Annihilation, based on a novel of the same name by author Jeff VanderMeer.

Annihilation follows the story of a biologist who volunteers for a dangerous journey into the wild and overgrown Area X, in hopes of discovering the mysterious forces behind the death of her husband and the expeditions before him.

The biologist, along with four other female scientists, ventures into the dense and seemingly conscious jungle region, unaware how deeply their lives will be changed by the forces within.

Annihilation stars Thor-film alumna Natalie Portman as the biologist and Thor-film newcomer Tessa Thompson as the surveyor, along with Gina Rodriguez, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Tuva Novotny, and Oscar Isaac.  Directed by Alex Garland, of Ex Machina fame, the film is set to release in February 2018.
