Sinners + Other Horror Connections at the Golden Globes

While Sinners might not have won as many awards as horror fans would have wanted, the original and groundbreaking film from Ryan Coogler (Black Panther, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever) did win for Original Score as well as Cinematic and Box Office Achievement. Ludwig Göransson’s soundtrack is, as always, a thoughtful and compelling study of culture and character. The box office numbers speak for themselves and people love those monsters (human, vampire, and otherwise).

Speaking of monsters, Best Female Performance in a Drama Motion Picture Winner Jessie Buckley will be starring in this year’s The Bride! Directed by Maggie Gyllenhaal, The Bride! will be a retelling of the Bride of Frankenstein’s creation.

K-Pop Tops the Golden Globes Charts

For years now, K-pop has been hitting the high notes around the world, gaining new fans and influencing musical pop culture, from Gap ads with Katseye to global music sensations like BTS. Now, Netflix is in on the action with their animated super hit KPop Demon Hunters, whose songs and characters have taken centerstage on small screens in a very big way. What’s not to love about catchy songs, stellar choreography, and supernatural adventure?

Sci-Fi Brings the Golden Globes to the Stars

No matter how grounded a story may seem, the stars are never too far away in Hollywood. Best Male Performance in a Musical or Comedy Motion Picture Winner Timothée Chalomet is of course also the star of the Dune franchise, as well as other comedies like Wonka. Another Dune star, Best Male Supporting Role Motion Picture Winner Stellan SkarsgÄrd, can also be seen in Star Wars: Andor, Thor, and many other notable performances.
