Surf’s Up Series

According to Penske Media Corporation’s news outlet Deadline, Thunderbird Entertainment’s Atomic Cartoons is developing a brand new series adaptation of the 2007 film Surfs Up. “The series will follow an over-confident teen penguin named Flip, who teams a zany bunch of young surfers in his attempt to become a surf legend. Things go spectacularly wrong and the wipeouts are spectacular, so they instead they build their own surf community on Pen Gu Island. Characters from the movie such as Cody, Big Z and Chicken Joe will return.”

Avatar: The Way of Water Re-Release Update

According to Penske Media Corporation’s news outlet Variety, Avatar: The Way of Water’s recent return to the theaters — just before the release of Avatar: Fire and Ash — will actually have new scenes. Each screening of the The Way of Water re-release will be accompanied by never-before-seen “Fire and Ash” footage. However, not every screening will offer the same experience. There are three different, brand new clips from “Fire and Ash” that will play after “The Way of Water,” but each screening will only play one of the three. Avatar: Fire and Ash will fly into theaters on December 19.

Highlander Casting

According to Penske Media Corporation’s news outlet Deadline, Drew McIntyre is officially set to join Amazon MGM Studios’ film reboot of Highlander. The project will star Henry Cavill as the main character. And now, the main character will officially have a brother, Angus MacLeod, played by McIntyre. McIntyre is best known for playing a token Scotsman wrestler for WWE. He plays The Scottish Warrior. So it’s not too far a stretch for him to play yet another Scotsman. Chad Stahelski will direct the film.

The Simpsons Movie Sequel

Multiple outlets confirmed that Disney‘s 20th Century Studios is officially set to make a brand new Simpsons film. It’s been 20 years since their last release of The Simpsons Movie, and yet the movie is officially set to be a sequel. The Simpsons Movie Sequel will drive into theaters on July 23, 2027.
