How and when did you start collecting?
I was only two years old when Star Wars was released in 1977. My older brother was 7 at the time, so the film and toys were more relevant to him. However, I was along for the ride and before I knew it I was deep in the Star Wars collectibles rabbit hole. The Star Wars collectibles died off and then I got caught up in Transformers, GI Joe and horror. When Star Wars made a comeback in the late 90’s I couldn’t resist picking up a lot of the new release toys and collectibles. 20 years on, I’m still going.
What do you collect? Does your collection have a theme, such as Star Wars, Batman, etc.?
Star Wars toys and collectibles make up the bulk of my collection, but I’ve also picked up Transformers, GI Joe, Batman, Robocop, Predator, Terminator, Indiana Jones, The Matrix, Freddy Krueger, Jason Voorhees and Michael Myers collectibles along the way. If it appeals to me, I’ll collect it.
What makes your collection unique?
I think it’s the diversity. It covers so many film genres and features high end pieces and the standard toy lines that only cost a few dollars. It’s also unique in the way that takes up so much space in my home. Lucky I’m about to build a bigger home which will make storage and display a little easier.
What are your favorite or the most prized pieces in your collection?
I love the EFX collectibles Darth Vader helmet, the Elite Creature Collectibles 1:1 Freddy Krueger bust, my replica Michael Myers masks, my replica Freddy gloves, the EFX collectibles Stormtrooper blaster, my SSC Darth Vader and C3PO busts as well as my Enterbay 1/4 scale Joker figure with re-sculpted head and real hair.
What items are on your wishlist?
I can’t wait to pick up the PCS 1/4 scale Michael Myers statue and really want to get my hands on the Queen Studios DC Joker 2019 1:1 Bust (Joaquin Phoenix).
