The Ghosts in Ghostbusters
Ghostbusters introduced countless exciting ghosts, hosts, and characters into our lives. But there are four that truly stand out above the rest.
Slimer
Slimer is a truly iconic ghost made of pure ectoplasm. Like most ghosts, he can pass through walls. And when he does, he leaves behind a rank and murky slime. He was known to lurk around the twelfth floor of the Sedgewick Hotel, and certainly known for stealing food. Slimer was actually the first ghost that the Ghostbusters captured!
Stay Puft Marshmallow Man
Gozer is a powerful and ancient God. And when Gozer told the Ghostbusters to choose the form of their destructor, Ray‘s mind wandered to the most innocent, harmless thing he could think of: The Stay Puft Marshmallow Mascot. Gozer grew to a 100 foot tall Marshmallow Man, and the Ghostbusters had to defeat the giant Tubby Soft-Squeeze Man!
Zuul
Zuul was the Gatekeeper of Gozer, and he protected Gozer’s temple. Little is known about Zuul, because soon after it came into the physical plane, it possessed Dana Barrett. Zuul used Dana to get closer to Peter, but Peter wouldn’t have it. He only wanted to talk with Dana. But, “There is no Dana, only Zuul!”
Library Ghost
The Library Ghost was the ghost of librarian Eleanor Twitty. She was the very first ghost that The Ghostbusters ever met. When the Ghostbusters plan to deal with her, she shifts and twists her body into a massive appalling form, and scares them away. And they never saw her again…
