The Most Wholesome Pop Culture Families

By Jasmine Edwards on Nov 26, 2025

In an era of dark, gritty media, it’s always refreshing to see something sweet. After all, good relationships with parents and siblings are difficult to come by in TV, comics, film et cetera. And why is that? Why do characters have to suffer and experience isolation or oppression from their relatives to be considered interesting? Well, we’re not having it!

Despite being troubled heroes, or literal horror protagonists, the following characters and their families have incredible dynamics. So, celebrate pure, platonic love this holiday season with the most healthy, wholesome families in pop culture, including those listed below. Then, read on to learn why they made the list!

  • Fantastic Four
  • Addams Family
  • House Stark
  • Bat-Family
  • Yunmeng Siblings
  • The Byers
  • Weasley Family
  • Lilo and Nani

Fantastic Four (Marvel)

Dysfunctional teams like the Avengers or Thunderbolts* make for good entertainment. But the best teams work together well, loving and trusting each other unconditionally every step of the super hero-ing way. Composed of a married couple, a brother, and BFF, the Fantastic Four are literally Marvel’s First Family. Together they combat science-based threats and cosmic calamities. And they do so without sacrificing their relationships, children, or any citizens. What an inspiration to heroic groups everywhere!

Addams Family

They’re creepy, kooky — and caring! Although branded as weirdos by the outside world, the Addams Family are a faithful, functional unit. Morticia and Gomez present a unified front and set an amazing example for their kids with a passion that spans decades and never loses its spark. Wednesday and Puglsey really have the best home life since the Addams Family lives in a multigenerational household. Plus, each family member supports the others’ endeavors, even offering advice and better murder weapons should the occasion call for it.

House Stark (Game of Thrones)

House Stark is literally so strong together that the rest of Westeros had to systematically destroy it. But before the inhabitants of Winterfell were scattered to the wind, they were an amazing example of a wholesome family. Ned Stark and Catherine Tully genuinely loved each other and their children. Running such a large household could be tough, especially with political plots afoot. Yet nothing was more important to House Stark than protecting and nurturing family.

Bat-Family (DC)

The family that fights crime together stays together! Although the roster has changed over the years, the Bat-Family is one of the most famous super hero groups out there. It is made up of Batman’s actual children, as well as his adopted kids, his lover Catwoman, and recently the antihero Harley Quinn. Essentially, the Bat-Family binds together a bunch of heroes with likeminded goals so they can train and support one another. And any conflicts, moral or otherwise, are solved together in a way that helps everyone grow and change for the better.

Yunmeng Siblings (The Untamed)

Now, we know what we said about complicated home lives. And the Jiang Clan siblings definitely have it hard with their parents, who fight viciously and have obvious favorites among the children. But the children themselves have nothing but pure love for each other. Jiang Yanli, Wei Wuxian, and Jiang Cheng are fiercely devoted to their siblings. Over the course of The Untamed, all of their actions and sacrifices can be traced back to their (lotus) roots in Yunmeng. Even the subsequent tragedies show how deep this love goes.

The Byers (Stranger Things)

Although not pictured above, don’t think we’re forgetting Joyce Byers! Will and Jonathan are incredibly lucky to have such a cool, supportive mom. This Stranger Things fam is a fan favorite for many reasons, but most fans just love how protective and adoring they all are. Joyce does everything in her power to find her missing kid even after the police give up. Jonathan is a picture perfect big brother, and knows how to care for his sensitive little brother. Once they’re both older, they also make a dynamic duo fighting Demogorgons!

The Weasleys (Harry Potter)

The Weasleys are kind of the paragon of a perfect family. Red-headed and extremely affectionate, they are the wealthiest wizards when it comes to love. Molly and Arthur cherish their children, offering them the best in education and working so hard to make ends meet. Despite their poverty, they provide all the Weasleys with a path to the best education opportunities. And the kids themselves are all brave and loyal as lions. But what do you expect from a whole gaggle of Gryffindors raised on curiosity and compassion?

Lilo and Nani (Disney)

“Ohana means family. And family means nobody gets left behind.” There aren’t many more iconic movie quotes about families than that one. And that comes from Lilo & Stitch, Disney’s animated film about a little girl and her big sister. Orphaned years prior, Nani and Lilo struggle with clashing personalities and the pressures of being forced to grow up too fast. The heart and soul of this film is their relationship, how it evolves and strengthens through extraterrestrial and earthbound trials alike.
