DC Comics’ Naomi Gets A Series Order By Andrew Ceco The CW has given a series order for an adaptation of DC Comics‘ Naomi, written by Brian Michael Bendis and David F. Walker, with art by Jamal Campbell. The announcement came first from The Hollywood Reporter, and was later confirmed in a post by showrunner Ava DuVernay. She shared photos of the set and from the pilot, most of them focused on the main character Naomi McDuffie. The comic series follows a young girl who doesn’t feel at home in her small town, but when an alien threat randomly jumps into the town, Superman passes through to protect them. It’s just an instant, but for her small town, it changed everything. They felt like Superman’s crater-pounding punch put them on the map. And even though they don’t meet, Naomi felt like Superman understood her. He knew how it felt to be different. She knows she’s adopted, but she never knew her biological parents. She goes searching for answers about her past and comes back with more than an origin, she comes back with powers. But when you go digging in the past, sometimes, the past comes back to haunt you.
