Action Man Adaptation

Working Title and Hasbro are working together to create a film adaptation of Action Man. Action Man was originally based on G.I. Joe . Action Man has no release date.

Warhammer 40,000 Animated Adaptation

Variety confirmed that Amazon MGM Studios is working with Henry Cavill to produce an animated series adaptation of Warhammer 40,000. Cavill will be starring in a live-action adaptation of Warhammer 40,000, and now he’ll executive produce the animated series.

We only know that, “the series will feature The Deathwatch, an elite group of Space Marines that specialize in hunting down alien threats.”

The series will serve as a spinoff of the Secret Level anthology series episode.

Atari Adaptations

Deadline confirmed that Universal has made a deal with Atari and Entertainment 360 to develop 10 classic Atari video game properties into films.

The first film based on Atari will be written by Matt Reilly and Carl Hampe. They will be able to adapt Asteroids, Adventure, Berzerk, Breakout, Centipede, Crystal Castles, Millipede, Missile Command, Pong and Yars’ Revenge.

There is no further news about Atari at this time.

Wildwood Comedy Series

And now for just a little bit of comedy…

According to Deadline, Disney’s 20th Century Studios and FX have officially purchased the rights to Wildwood, a brand new comedy series that’s described as the spiritual successor to Derry Girls.

Derry Girls is about a group of teen Irish schoolgirls in the mid-1990s, Wildwood is set in the summer of 2000 and follows a group of Irish college girls who descend on the neon playground that is Wildwood, New Jersey. They’ve no money, no visas, no plan, no clue.

The project comes from Lisa McGee, and it’s her first project that isn’t set in the UK.
