Sci-Fi to Superheroes: Sideshow Exhibition at Haggin Museum

“Sci-Fi to Superheroes: The Art of Sideshow Collectibles” is a celebration of pop culture and the artists that bring it to life. This new exhibition — which showcases a selection of limited-edition fine art prints, statues, and figures from Sideshow’s extensive archives — is on display at the Haggin Museum in Stockton, Calif., from July 21, 2022 – January 29, 2023.

Pop culture has always captured the imagination of storytellers. From Middle-earth to Gotham City, our screens, comic book panels, and hearts have long collected our favorite characters. There’s a whole pantheon of heroes, villains, monsters, and everything in between to choose from and this display at the Haggin Museum brings that imagination to three-dimensional life.

Thanks to the talent and hard work of Haggin Museum CEO Susan Obert and the Haggin Museum staff, as well as the vision of Sideshow’s Mat Falls, Gracie Bifulco, and Brendan Wright, this exhibition is ready to honor the finest aspects of pop culture. Come take a look!

What’s Included in the Exhibit?

Attendees will be able to see early examples of sculptural art from Sideshow’s archives, with figures and statues inspired by a wide variety of pop culture characters and properties, from Marvel, DC Comics, Star Wars, The Lord of the Rings, and more.

Since Sideshow was founded in 1994, the wide range of collectibles offered has grown to encompass the ever-expanding fandoms that fans love. From the stoic wisdom of Qui-Gon Jinn™, with lightsaber drawn, to a comics-accurate life-size bust of Wolverine (you can practically hear his claws as they emit their signature snikt), these figures represent Sideshow’s long history of giving fans a way to live alongside their all-time favorites.

Furthermore, The Haggin’s walls are bedecked with dozens of stunning and vibrant fine art prints featuring art by Olivia De Berardinis, Paolo Rivera, Kristopher Meadows, Adi Granov, Fabian Schlaga, J. Scott Campbell, Jerry Vanderstelt, and others!

Stunning art prints depict Catwoman slinking across rooftops, Yoda channeling the Force, and Storm’s fingertips that crackle with lightning. The artwork on display illustrates the high-quality prints that Sideshow presents to collectors, fans, and anyone with an eye for exquisite, vibrant detail. The characters and worlds we love so much are only a frame away!
