The Growing World of Cyberpunk 2077

CD Projekt Red recently hosted a virtual panel about their highly-anticipated upcoming game Cyberpunk 2077. The world of Cyberpunk 2077 has been in development for years, and during the Night City Wire Event, CD Projekt Red announced a few more ways that they’re moving forward with this futuristic landscape.

Cyberpunk 2077 is always expanding and changing, so let’s dive into all their new and exciting projekts revealed recently.


The Gig Trailer Reveal




You’ll be be working with a character named Jackie on a hunt for a legendary chip of “immortality.” Jackie will introduce you to a fixer that will offer you to new chips and enhancements. And the adventure just expands from there.

This trailer gives you just a little taste of the insane open world adventure to come. Cyberpunk 2077 will be released on November 19th, 2020.


Cyberpunk: Edgerunners




Cyberpunk 2077 is partnering with Studio Trigger and Netflix to create a new anime series called Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, which follows a group of hackers and mercenaries that learn to survive through intense technological warfare and profiteering. The anime will premiere in 2022.


Cyberpunk 2077: Trauma Team

CD Projekt Red is also teaming with Dark Horse Comics to create a tie-in comic series that will take place, presumably, in Night City. The series will be called Cyberpunk 2077: Trauma Team, and follow Nadia, an assistant emergency medical technician, on a failed rescue mission.

There is no release date for the comic at this time, but the story will be helmed by writer Cullen Bunn and artist Miguel Valderrama.


New Cyberpunk Collectibles

Sideshow has already announced the development of new Cyberpunk 2077 collectibles based on two incredibly popular RPG video game licenses by CD Projekt Red. And while your character will be extremely customizable, some characters within the world will remain consistently iconic — like Johnny Silverhand.
