What Happens If I Win During Sideshow’s Spooktacular 2017?
So, You Won A Spooktacular Contest. Now What?
During Spooktacular, Sideshow kicks everything up a notch. More contests, more promo codes, more giveaways, and more top secret product reveals. In fact, this year Sideshow is giving away over $10,000 in prizes!
Everyone has an equal chance of winning, but in order to claim your prize, you need to follow the proper steps and procedures. It sounds simple enough, but every year at least a few people don’t follow the directions and miss out on epic prizes. So to help you out, we have put together a handy guide for you in the event you are one of those lucky winners.
Abide By The Rules
As with any game or contest, there are rules you must follow in order to win. Most of the time, you will be competing on the social media platform directly. That means sending a tweet, responding to a Facebook post, liking an Instagram picture, and so on. Contests will be platform specific, so (as an example) please do not respond to a Twitter contest via Facebook, email, or any other channel other than Twitter.
The specific rules for each contest will be posted on the social channel with the contest, and, most times, winners will be chosen randomly. Winners will be notified to contact us through the original contest post.
The Final Countdown
If you have been picked as a winner, congratulations! Now that is out of the way, get to your nearest keyboard and email [email protected] post-haste. You only have a limited timeframe to claim your prize from the moment the notification you won is posted online. These timeframes vary based on the contest you entered, so be sure to read carefully!
And when we say limited timeframe, we mean it! If you got the notification at 3:30pm Monday and you’re asked to reply in 5 minutes, if your email comes to us at 3:37pm, sorry but your prize will be lost. So don’t dilly-dally- time is of the essence!
Include All Requested Information
This seems to be the part where many people get a bit hung up. When you email [email protected], the first thing you need to do is put the prize that you won in the subject line. The body of the email then needs to include all the following information:
- Full Name.
- Daytime Phone Number. (Yes, that includes you international contest winners as well.)
- Shipping Address
- Social Media Handle
Then send it over to us! If any of this above information is not included with your email within the allotted response period, again, the prize would be forfeit. And check your spelling! If you make a typo and try to resend your information, we’ll move on to the next soul in line…
Shipping Not Always Included
We are going to be giving away a ton of terrifyingly cool stuff this year. Just keep in mind that if you win, you are still going to be responsible for any shipping costs associated with sending you the prize.
If you are an international customer, you will likely also need to pay the additional import fees and/or customs taxes that come with shipping any item outside of the United States.
All prizes are awarded and distributed at the sole discretion of Sideshow.
What does that mean? Well, it means that there is a chance you may not agree with our choice of winner, or you may feel yourself or somebody else should have won instead. We try our best to be fair to everyone, but sniveling about who should have won is the quickest way to become exempt from winning any future contests. Don’t do it.
