5 Major Film and Television Announcements from SDCC 2022

The San Diego Comic Convention 2022 was full of big announcements and first looks for many fan-favorite franchises. Would it even be a Comic-Con without plenty of new content to get us hyped for what’s to come?

Below, you’ll find the sneak peeks, teasers, and trailers for John Wick 4, Interview with the Vampire, Star Trek: Picard season 3, Shazam! Fury of the Gods, and Game of Thrones: House of the Dragon. TV and movies for this year and beyond just got a whole lot more exciting!

John Wick 4

The John Wick franchise deals in redemption and vengeance, with a hefty serving of ass-kickin’. John Wick: Chapter 4 will continue the tradition of this action-adventure series as Keanu Reeves returns for plenty of sword slashing, gun smoking, and bad guy bashing — and there’s maybe even a dog or two. It’s time for the High Table to learn some manners and for John to battle the biggest batch of assassins ever. John Wick 4 arrives March 24, 2023.

Interview With The Vampire

At the beginning of the 20th century, when dazzling electricity and booming enterprise make New Orleans sparkle, something sinister lurks in the shadows. The trailer for the new AMC horror series Interview with the Vampire, based on Anne Rice’s acclaimed novel and part of her Vampire Chronicles series, shows Louis as his faith is challenged by the temptation of the vampire Lestat. The interview begins on October 2, 2022.

Star Trek: Picard Season 3

Captain Jean-Luc Picard has assembled his Star Trek: Picard crew for one last trip around the universe. The third and final season of this Star Trek TV series will see Picard reunite with many characters from Star Trek: The Next Generation as well as his current crew, including Geordi La Forge, Seven of Nine, Raffi Musiker, Worf, Deanna Troi, William T. Riker, and Beverly Crusher. The weight of the past and the possibility of the future will collide when Star Trek: Picard streams in 2023.

SHAZAM! FURY OF THE GODS

Making a name for yourself as a hero is no small feat, but it is a bit easier when you have your own super-powered family to back you up. Just ask Billy Batson, AKA Shazam, and the Shazam Family. In this newest adventure, the wizard Shazam warns Billy about the Daughters of Atlas (Hespera, Kalypso, and Anthea) who seek to take back the powers of the gods from undeserving children. After Black Adam premieres on October 21, the next DC Comics film adaptation will be Shazam! Fury of the Gods, set for December 21, 2022.

Game of Thrones: House of the Dragon

With every rise to power, inevitably there must come a great fall. And two centuries before the events of Game of Thrones, House Targaryen will learn this harsh truth. In this new prequel installment (premiering August 21, 2022) to the hit fantasy series, Game of Thrones: House of the Dragon will depict a war of succession among the Targaryen family that will doom not only the dragonriders but their kingdom as well. The only thing more dangerous than a dragon’s flame is the one who controls the dragon.
