Hello there!

Star Wars™ has announced a brand new series called Obi-Wan Kenobi. The series will be one of Disney+’s many upcoming Star Wars shows, including Ahsoka, Lando, The Acolyte, A Droid Story™, Rangers of the New Republic, Visions™, and more!

While the show was announced during Disney’s D23 Expo in August 2020, Disney shared much more about the project on Disney’s Investor Day, including the time period that the show would take place. We now know that the series will begin 10 years after Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith™ in the year 9 ABY.

Between the events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars: A New Hope™, we’ll follow the Jedi Master’s™ struggles his greatest defeat, the downfall and corruption of his best friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker™ turned evil Sith Lord Darth Vader™.

“It was such an incredible journey playing Anakin Skywalker,” said Christensen. “Of course, Anakin and Obi-Wan weren’t on the greatest of terms when we last saw them… It will be interesting to see what an amazing director like Deborah Chow has in store for us all. I’m excited to work with Ewan again. It feels good to be back.”

The series will be directed by Deborah Chow, who helmed memorable episodes of The Mandalorian season 1. Ewan McGregor is set to return as the titular Obi-Wan Kenobi™. And Hayden Christensen will be coming back to play the role of Darth Vader. Lucasfilm head Kathleen Kennedy said, “This will be the rematch of the century.” Disney hasn’t announced any further casting or plot details at this time.

Obi-Wan Kenobi will premiere some time on Disney+. Will you be watching?
